"The Politics of Dancing" is a hit song by the British band Re-Flex, released in 1983. It is the title track of their debut album, and was the band's second single. The song was written by keyboardist/backing vocalist and band co-founder Paul Fishman.
It became the biggest hit of their career, peaking at #28 on the UK Singles Chart, #9 in Canada, and #12 in both Australia and New Zealand; in the United States, it reached its peak positions in 1984, getting to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the dance chart.
The song has been used in many films over the years, including Firstborn, Edge of Seventeen, and Atomic Blonde.
