The Promise (2010 play)
The Promise is a 2010 play by Ben Brown. It premiered from 17 February to 20 March 2010 at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond-upon-Thames. It is set early in World War I and deals with the lead-up to the Balfour Declaration of 1917, via the relationship between Herbert Samuel, Edwin Samuel Montagu and H. H. Asquith's confidante Venetia Stanley.Reviews
