The Summer Series

The Summer Series is a high school girls and boys basketball league competition in New Zealand. The league was founded in 2018 and is currently contested by 12 teams; six in the Girls division, and six in the Boys Division.

History

The Summer Series was created by two former students of Newlands College, where the aim is to, "allow teams to play against one another in true game conditions before the season begins. This allows teams to practice, try new things, and bond with one another."
Leading into the Summer Series competition, many other minor basketball competitions were run by the pair, including The New World Series and The Newlands 3x3 School Championship.
