Theodoropolis in Europa


Theodoropolis was an Ancient city and former bishopric, remaining a Latin Catholic titular see, also succeeded by a Greek Catholic titular bishopric under the name Theodorium.
Its presumed location is Badoma, in modern European Turkey.

History

Theodoropolis was important enough in the late Roman province of Europa to become a suffragan of its capital 's Metropolitan Archbishop, yet would fade.

The diocese was nominally restored as a Latin titular bishopric of the lowest rank in 1921, renamed Theodorium in 1925 and back in 1933.
It is vacant for decades, having had a single incumbent :
It's unclear if the Greek Catholic see, which also has been named Theodosiopolis and Theodorium, refers to the same city.
However its only recorded incumbent so far is the same George Calavassy,
