Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games


The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is the organisation responsible for overseeing the planning and development of the 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Organising Committee was launched on January 24, 2014, and is composed of members of the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Japanese Paralympic Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Japanese government, as well as members of various other organisations and individuals from various fields. It is spearheaded by former-Prime Minister Yoshirō Mori, with Toshirō Mutō being appointed as Director General.
The Organising Committee is being overseen by Olympic and Paralympic Minister Yoshitaka Sakurada on behalf of the Japanese government, and has Prime Minister Shinzō Abe as its Supreme Advisor.
