Tony Knapp


Anthony Knapp is an English former footballer, a notable defender in the English football league in the 1960s.
He was training with Nottingham Forest before becoming professional, as a player for Leicester City, Southampton FC, Coventry City, Los Angeles Wolves and Tranmere Rovers.
His career as a manager started in Poole Town F.C. and as an assistant coach to Norwich City.
He then had success with the amateurs Iceland national football team as in their beating the East Germany national football team 2-1. In Norway he had success with Viking FK, Fredrikstad FK, again Iceland,
and SK Brann. Since then Knapp has coached lower division clubs around Stavanger, such as SK Vidar, Djerv 1919, Sandnes Ulf, Staal, Stavanger IF, Hundvåg FK and Lillesand IL, before he retired due to illness.
