TooSmooth


William Alexander McClam, known by his stage name TooSmooth, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and entrepreneur. Recording Industry Association of America and National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences member.

Early life

McClam, was born in Chicago Illinois his father Edmund Malone McClam, former Senior Library Specialist at Chicago State University and his mother Alice Ella Brown, a Preschool Teacher for Chicago Public Schools The family moved from Chicago to Schaumburg where McClam attended James B. Conant High School. He graduated high school a year early to study at Full Sail University.

Music career

TooSmooth released his first single "In Love" September 11, 2011 a week later his song was played on Globegig Radio an Independent UK station. The first time TooSmooth was played outside the USA. Smooth's first album The Come Up Vol.1 Was released December 30, 2011. TooSmooth went on to self-release two more albums The Come Up Vol.2 , The Come Up Vol.3 and one EP I Am TooSmooth- EP TooSmooth's first music video and first single from self-released album 'The Come Up Vol.3 "Future Dreams" was released on VEVO and MTV MTV.com
TooSmooth's latest single "About You" was released May 6, 2014 Spotify released the single under there US new releases playlist along with major artist like Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Austin Mahone and many other artist. That same week Lights Out Entertainment LLC became a part of the Recording Industry Association of America listing TooSmooth and his record label among major labels of America. William is also a National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences member granting him the privilege to vote and attend the Grammy Awards each year.
TooSmooth and his family moved to Burbank, California on the One Year Anniversary of The Come Up Vol.3 following his transition to California Smooth was Invited out to Warner Bros. by one of their executives for pitching opportunities towards there films. That came about because earlier that year TooSmooth emailed his song "Future Dreams" to the same executive, by doing that sparked interest in TooSmooth and his songwriting ability. Later that year after building a professional relationship with Warner Bros., TooSmooth Was Invited out to Paramount Pictures for the same pitching opportunities.
