Trace3 was founded in 2002 by Hayes Drumwright, as an IT systemsvalue added reseller, and Drumwright served as its first CEO. By 2013, the company's services included big data consulting, cloud computing and data center consulting. In March 2014, the company launched a Venture Capital CIO Briefing program for clients, venture capitalists and technology entrepreneurs, to raise awareness of IT developments affecting businesses. In August 2014, the company hired a new CEO, Tyler Beecher, and Drumwright became Executive Chairman. In 2016, the company reported 2015 sales of $500M and 350 employees.
