Tsuneko Taniuchi
Tsuneko Taniuchi is a Japanese performance artist born in Hyogo, Japan. Since 1987, she has lived and worked in Paris, France. In 2014, Taniuchi performed her 45th "Micro-event", a series of performances that explore the borders between art and common occurrences of everyday life. "Micro-events" are an ongoing performance series that Taniuchi started in 1995 and has taken place in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Taniuchi is interested in working with themes related to women in contemporary society, as she finds the hierarchical etiquette and customs for women in Japan unappealing.
