Tua Pek Kong Temple, Kuching
Tua Pek Kong Temple is a Chinese temple situated near the waterfront of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, opposite the Chinese History Museum. It is the oldest temple in the city and formed a part of the Kuching Heritage Trail.The temple had been existed since 1770, with much of its history can be traced since 1843 with several renovations have been made in 1856, 1863 and 1880. In 1884, the temple survived the Great Fire of Kuching and later the Japanese invasion during World War II in 1941 where its structure remained intact despite parts of nearby buildings in the town were heavily damaged after being bombed by the Imperial Japanese Army.
