Ullerslev Municipality


Until January 1, 2007 Ullerslev municipality was a municipality in the former Funen County, on the east coast of the island of Funen, in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 54 km2, and had a total population of 5,151. Its last mayor was Erik Christensen, a member of the Socialdemokraterne, the Social Democratic Party.
The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ullerslev, with a population of 2,730.
The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform that merged a number of existing parishes:
Ullerslev municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen 2007. It was merged with Nyborg and Ørbæk municipalities to form a new Nyborg municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 278 km2 and a total population of 31,009. The new municipality belongs to Region of Southern Denmark.
