The final was held on 15 March 1998, hosted by Terry Wogan and Ulrika Jonsson, who reported in the first show from Birmingham, the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 1998. A public televote selected the winner, "Where Are You?" performed by Imaani. Continuing the United Kingdom's success the previous year, the United Kingdom was the sixteenth country to perform straight after Romania. In the end Imaani finished as runner-up to Israel's Dana International with a total of 166 points from all twenty four other countries.Televoting results
