Urgent Care Association

The Urgent Care Association is a membership organization founded in 2004 and headquartered in Warrenville, IL, United States, which represents professionals working in urgent care centers in the United States and internationally.

Educational resources

The UCA offers educational and professional development resources including live webinars, convention recordings, and self-paced learning content through its online education portal, in addition to providing resources for starting a new urgent care center, provision of clinical care in the urgent care setting, and running a successful urgent care practice.
The UCA also holds two annual educational events, the Urgent Care Convention and Expo and the Fall Urgent Care Fall Conference. Additionally, the UCA conducts every two years a survey and publishes the findings in a report on emerging trends in the urgent care industry.

Journal of Urgent Care Medicine

UCA publishes the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine in conjunction with Braveheart Publishing. The journal features columns on medical coding, legal aspects of urgent care, and occupational medicine matters. It also contains UCA updates and reviews of the literature related to urgent care medicine.

Certified Urgent Care designation

In 2009, the UCA established the Certified Urgent Care designation, providing national criteria for urgent care centers and setting standards for hours of operation, staffing, and services patients can expect. The CUC is intended to help patients, payers and other interested parties identify true full-service urgent care centers.
