Vương Đình Huệ


Vương Đình Huệ is a Vietnamese politician, Professor in Economics. He is currently Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. He was previously Minister of Finance and head of the PCC Economic Commission, a central committee consulting agency for economic policies and strategies. He is also a member of the 10th, 11th and 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In addition, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Educational background and political career

September, 1979 – 1985: lecturer at the University of Finance and Accountancy;
1985 – 1986: master student at Faculty of European Studies at the Ha Noi University of Foreign Languages;
1986 – 1990: PhD candidate at University of Economics in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia;
1991 – 1992: lecturer at Faculty of Accounting, Hanoi University of Finance and Accountacy;
October, 1992 – April, 1994: Deputy Dean of Faculty of Accounting, Hanoi University of Finance and Accountancy;
May, 1994 – February, 1999: Dean of Faculty of Accounting, Hanoi University of Finance and Accountancy;
March, 1999 – June, 2001: Assistant Principal on training, Hanoi University of Finance and Accountancy;
July, 2001 – June, 2006: Vice Chief State Auditor;
July, 2006 – August, 2011: Chief State Auditor;
August, 2011 – February, 2013: Minister of Finance;
