Vaishali Samant


Vaishali Samant is an Indian music composer, lyricist and playback singer who is popularly known for her work in the Marathi film and music industry. Her career on television has included being a judge on the reality singing competition shows. She has sung in Bengali, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Tamil and Telugu languages. She has sung over 2000 songs in Marathi. Her "Aika Dajiba", "Kombadi Palali", "Nad khula" and "Durchya Ranat" songs are popular and a hit.

Musical Education

Vaishali Samant started learning music when she was 8 years old under accomplished Natya Sangeet exponent Mrs. Jyotsna Mohile. She further received formal training in Indian classical music from Mrs. Katti and Sri Jayant Datar for 5 years. After that she went on to learn the technique of blending Indian Classical music with International music from Guru Pandit Manohar Chimote.

Career

Samant's debut song Aika Dajiba made sensation all over India. She has sung for music composers like A. R. Rahman in Lagaan, Taal & Saathiya. She has also sung for music directors like Viju Shah and Daboo Malik. She has also sung for bollywood films like Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, Girlfriend, Eight, Malamaal Weekly, Tujhe Meri Kasam, Chetna, Dil Jo Bhi Kahe, Traffic Signal, Chamku, Mirch and so on. Her most well known song is Chalka Re from Saathiya by A. R. Rahman. She won MTV Asia music awards, Singapore in 2004. She got nominated for Gadbad Gondhal in Ambarnath Marathi Film Festival in 2017 as Best Singer.,
