Biography

Overview

Victor Alexeeff is a prodigy who began studying piano at age four and attended The Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, beginning at age seven. Although renowned for his performances of Chopin and Prokofiev, his musical interests are eclectic. Besides working as a concert pianist and session player, he composes scores for film and television, produces original albums, and performs with experimental music groups and rock bands.

Early life

Alexeeff began piano studies at the age of four, encouraged by his grandfather. At seven, he entered The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and appeared on his first album, "A Tribute to Walt Disney" at the age of nine. Victor Alexeeff studied with Boris Berlin, and . Throughout his training, he received 33 scholarships, and appeared on numerous television and radio programs throughout North America. He became involved in the experimental band NRG, which performed live sound tracks to film classics such as Fritz Lang's Metropolis and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Career

While still also pursuing a fine arts career by participating in International Piano competitions worldwide, Alexeeff is primarily creating scores and trailers for video games, movies, corporate communications, radio and television commercials, as well as live business theater presentations. For the Hannah Neil Center for Children, , Alexeeff composed the World of Children anthem Can You Hear. At a Huntington Bancshares Fundraiser for Homeless Children he produced the “Voices of Christmas” album, a project that raised more than $55,000 for homeless children. He composed music for COSI for the ‘Adventures Exhibit,’ which is a permanent installation in the science museum.
Also, he composed a musical for the tri-centennial celebration of the Wright Brothers’ flight, hosted by Senator John Glenn, performed at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Among his major music accomplishments is having created the score for the 700-foot Detroit International Airport tunnel, , seen by nearly three- million visitors a year. Alexeeff recently wrote the music to Benny Mardones' latest hit .

Personal Life

Victor Alexeeff has been married to Petra Luna, Partner at and YouTuber with the , since April 9, 2005. They live with their five indoor Oriental Shorthair cats in Southern California.
