Villa Maria College


Villa Maria College is a private Catholic college in Buffalo. It was founded in 1960 by the Felician Sisters.

History

The college was initially a teacher-training center for sisters in the education apostolate and was established as an affiliate of the Catholic University of America. In 1961, a provisional charter was secured from the Board of Regents of the State of New York to grant Associate in Arts and Associate in Applied Science degrees to women religious.

Academics

Villa Maria offers bachelor's and associate degrees. In 2019, the College launched Flexible Business, its business administration program that can be completed in as little as 3 years by taking a combination of night, weekend and online courses.

Campus buildings

Main Building

The College's most notable structure, Villa's Main Building houses academic classrooms and work spaces, computer labs, the Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery, dining hall, and a large auditorium that seats 1250 people. Many of the College's student life programs take place in the Main Building as well.

Music Building

The Music Building is home-base for students studying Music or Music Industry at Villa Maria College. The building holds music classrooms, a recording studio, labs and a recital hall that was renovated in 2017 and seats 144. is located on the ground floor of the Music Building, as is the Computer Services department.

Library Building

In the College's Library building, students will find the library and the Library Services support team. Library Services at Villa include inter-library loans, information literacy instruction, research assistance appointments and more. Equipment available for student use in the library includes 18 computers, a multifuctional printer, video viewing equipment, laptops, headphones and more.

Felician Hall

Converted from an infirmary to a mixed-use building including classrooms and administration offices in 2013, the building houses a number of different departments. The Physical Therapist Assistant program, Office of Development, Office of Admission, Office of Communications, and the Archives are currently housed in the building along with a number of faculty offices.

The Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery

The Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery is located on the ground floor of the Main Building on campus. It gives students a professional space to display and share their work on campus. The gallery features exhibitions from students, faculty, as well as local and regional artists.

Athletics

The Villa Vikings compete in the USCAA and offer men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's cross country, women's cross country and women's bowling.
