Vladimir Popov (mathematician)
Vladimir Leonidovich Popov is a Russian mathematician working in the invariant theory and the theory of transformation groups. He is a member of the Steklov Institute of Mathematics and a professor of the National Research University – Higher School of Economics. In 1986, he was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians, and in 2008–2010 he was a core member of the panel for Section 2, "Algebra" of the Program Committee for the 2010 International Congress of Mathematicians.Awards
In 2012, he was elected a member of the inaugural class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society which recognizes mathematicians who have made significant contributions to the field.
In 2016, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.Books
