Volkswagen T-Cross


The Volkswagen T-Cross is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by the German automaker Volkswagen. It is based on the MQB platform, and was officially launched in April 2019. The car is positioned below the T-Roc, making it the smallest SUV model from Volkswagen.

T-Cross Breeze (2016)

A first preview of an SUV model, in the format of Volkswagen Polo, was presented at Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, as the concept car VW T-Cross Breeze.
This vehicle is, in contrast to the production version, a four seater convertible with fabric top. Externally, it resembles the VW T-Roc Concept, presented two years earlier. The T-Cross Breeze is long, wide and high.
The concept vehicle is powered by a one litre TSI engine with and of torque. The T-Cross Breeze is expected to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.3 seconds, with the top speed being. The standard consumption should be 5.0 litres per 100 km.

T-Cross ''First Edition'' (2018–present)

The production vehicle was officially launched on 25 October 2018, in Amsterdam, Shanghai and São Paulo. From 19 April 2019, the T-Cross is to be delivered. Early models included 1.0 TSI, 1.5 TSI, 1.6 TDI. 1.5 TSI was added in the market in Germany in 2019.
1st Edition models are based on T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI with 150 and 50 vehicles in manual and dual clutch gearboxes respectively, which were available as part of a lottery.

Longer wheelbase versions

In addition, the model is produced in China and Brazil, with a modified length of 4.20m,and a longer wheelbase of 2.65m, improving interior space and cargo volume. These models also have different front fascias and steering wheels from the variant sold in Europe.

Mexican Market

The model built in Brazil is exported to Mexico with a 1.6 litre engine, able to generate 82.0 kW and, associated with the Tiptronic six speed automatic transmission. It is the second car in Volkswagen's Mexican lineup to use the all new modular MQB A0 platform, also used on the SEAT Arona and Ibiza, and the Volkswagen Virtus, Polo, and Tarok.
It also comes with a 6.5" Composition Media and Apple CarPlay infotainment system, six airbags, ABS brakes and electronic stability control, and automatic post collision braking will be available in all versions. It obtained a five star rating by Latin NCAP. It arrived to the market in Mexico on 17 September 2019. Prices come between MXN$344,000 and MXN$459,990.

Equipment

The trims range in the United Kingdom from the entry level S, the mid range SE, the higher range SEL and the range topping R-Line. The special "First Edition" trim is limited to 250 units.

The vehicle is built together with the Volkswagen Polo at Volkswagen Navarra S.A. in Pamplona, Spain.
