Kozhukhar
is a
Ukrainian
conductor, born in
Vinnytsia
. A
graduate
of the
Lysenko music school
, he began conducting the
State Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine
in 1964 and became its
Chief Conductor
in
1967
. He conducted the
Kiev Opera and Ballet Theatre
from
1973
to 1977, then became Chief
Conductor
of the
Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre
. In
1989
, he became Chief Conductor of the
National Opera of Ukraine
in
Kiev
. He taught at the
Gnesin Music and Pedagogy Institute
in
Moscow
from
1978
to 1988, and has taught at the
National Music Academy of Ukraine
since
1993
.
