WHMS-FM
WHMS-FM, is a soft adult contemporary formatted radio station in Champaign, Illinois. The station is owned by The News-Gazette, the primary newspaper in the Champaign-Urbana area. The station slogan is "Lite Rock 97.5," and the station has an output power of 50 kW. WHMS-FM serves both the Champaign-Urbana, and Danville markets in East Central Illinois.
WHMS was founded in 1949 as WDWS-FM, a sister station to WDWS. It was renamed WHMS in 1988 in honor of Helen M. Stevick, longtime publisher of the News-Gazette.
Along with its sister station WDWS, WHMS has been the longtime broadcaster of the Illinois Fighting Illini, simulcasting all Illini football and men's basketball games.
The station carries the popular Love Songs with Delilah program weeknights, hosted by Delilah Rene.
