WJDE-LD
WJDE-LD is a low-powered digital television station in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.
History
The Station was signed on in 1986 by South Central Communications, under the callsign W24AE and broadcast programming from Home Shopping Network 24 hours a day. It would broadcast that format until 2012, when the station flipped to broadcasting classic TV programming from Me-TV, and would move HSN's programming to a third digital subchannel. It would also add Christian programming from the Sonlife Broadcasting Network on its second subchannel. At that same time, the station was sold to its current owner, Word Broadcasting Network, a subsidiary of Evangel World Prayer Center of Louisville, Kentucky. In between time in 1995, the station's callsign was changed to WJDE-LP and changed its callsign again to the current WJDE-LD in 2011, when the station converted to digital. The station also added a fourth subchannel called TV Scout, which broadcast TV listings 24 Hours a day. However, TV Scout was replaced by Soul of the South Network in 2014. On Thursday, January 8, 2015 they added Heroes & Icons and Decades channels. On September 4, 2015, WJDE discontinued their longtime Home Shopping Network affiliation, which was the station's primary affiliation from when the station signed on in 1986 until 2012 when it was replaced with Me-TV, and then moved to the station's third subchannel until 2015, when it was replaced by Decades. The HSN affiliation briefly moved to the Station's fourth subchannel from January to September 2015, when programming from HSN was replaced by informercials. Also on September 4, 2015, The Soul of the South affiliation was discontinued from the station's sixth subchannel and was replaced with Movies!.The Me-TV Affiliation was scheduled to move to WKRN 2.3, when Live Well Network announced that they would shut down & cease operations. Me-TV was never added to WKRN's third subchannel, instead, Justice Network was added. It was then announced that Me-TV would then move to WKRN's second subchannel, replacing the Nashville WX Channel, which it did so on February 1, 2016. Heroes & Icons was discontinued from WJDE's second subchannel in October, 2015, as Soul of the South Network returned to WJDE's lineup on the second subchannel. Also, Decades moved to the third subchannel as Home Shopping Network was re-added to the fourth subchannel. H&I was readded to WJDE's main channel at the same time when Me-TV moved to WKRN-DT2 on February 1, 2016.
On March 12, 2018, The Country Network replaced The Soul of the South Network on Channel 31.2.
On January 1, 2019, NewsNet replaced Home Shopping Network on its fourth subchannel of channel 31.4, Home Shopping Network still continues to be seen on Ion Media Owned & Operated Station of WNPX-TV on digital subchannel 28.6. Two Weeks later on January 14, WJDE added two more Subchannels, Faith USA on 31.7 & GEB America on 31.8.
On September 23, 2019, at the stroke of midnight, WJDE-LD discontinued Heroes & Icons, Decades, Movies! and Faith USA. The first & sixth subchannels of WJDE carried a temporary simulcast of Sonlife Broadcasting Network The simulcast of Sonlife Broadcasting Network on WJDE's sixth subchannel was discontinued on Monday, October 14, 2019 and was replaced with QVC2, and on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, the Sonlife Broadcasting Network was discontinued from the Main Channel of WJDE & was replaced with the Country Music & Lifestyle Network Heartland. The third & seventh subchannels were replaced with Right Now TV. On Wednesday October, 30, 2019, the seventh subchannel carrying Right Now TV, was replaced with a localized channel that carried religious programming. However the local religious programming on the seventh subchannel would be replaced with the conservative news channel, America's Voice on March 9, 2020. On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, WJDE discontinued NewsNet and would replace it with Retro Television Network.
