Wan Saiful Wan Jan


Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan is the Chairman of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation appointed in 2018 to replace Dato' Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah of the Barisan Nasional after Pakatan Harapan formed the new government for the first time.
Before joining politics, Wan Saiful was the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs co-founded by YAM Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, the son of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.

Election

Wan Saiful has participated in the Malaysian General Elections 2018 to contest the last Pendang parliamentary seat in the Pakatan Harapan which uses the People's Justice Party symbol to oppose Awang Hashim of the Idea of Peace, Othman Abdul of the Barisan Nasional and Abdul Malik. In the four-cornered contest, Wan Saiful only got 14,901 votes, the third highest after Awang Hashim and Othman Abdul.
