The Welfare Party of India is an Indian political party launched on 18 April 2011. Its first National President was Mujtaba Farooq.

History

The Welfare Party of India was launched in Delhi on 18 April 2011 at the Ambedkar Bhavan. It announced a 35 member working committee led by Mujtaba Farooq as President
The Welfare Party condemned demonetization by the Government of India
It plans to join hands with Indian Union Muslim League to contest elections against CPI

Criticism within the party

In June 2019 eleven dalit leaders from Kerala have resigned from the Welfare Party of India alleging untouchability inside the party. Pradeep Nemmara and other members claiming that treatment of party to them was discriminatory.
On 18th of June 2020, party's Kerala state secretary Sreeja Neyyatinkara who was one of the founding members of the party resigned following to disciplinary action taken by party.

Known Branches

The Welfare Party of Kerala is the Kerala unit of the Welfare Party of India. It was launched on 19 October 2011 at Tagore Hall, Kozhikode.
The organization argues for comprehensive land reform. Several struggles and seminars were organized by the landless people of Kerala.
