Wellington Cat Promenade


's Wellington Cat Promenade will be a short park, between Wellington Street and King Street, West of Spadina, in the enterainment district.
Claude Cormier designed the park, and its amusing statues of cats, and hidden mice. Cormier had previously designed the well-regarded dog fountain in Berczy Park. The Berczy Park dog fountain included one cat, and the Cat Promenade includes one dog statue.
A property developer received permission to redevelop a property, if the compensated for the higher density, if they purchased nearby properties, and turned them into parkspace. The cat promenade was part of that park space.
BlogTO reports that, as one measure to make the park cat-friendly, the plants there will include catnip.
