History

The property that is now West Collierville Middle School was originally Bellevue High-Security Correctional Facility. When the former Collierville High transitioned there the school received a $14,500,000 addition. In June of 2015, the Collierville School Board recognized the overcrowding at the school, and recommended a plan for a new High School to be built at 11605 E Shelby Drive. The plan followed through, and the new Collierville High School was constructed at the site costing $93,000,000. The building that was originally the high school was changed to West Collierville Middle School, and Schilling Farms Middle School was changed to Schilling Farms Elementary School. West Collierville Middle School opened for the 2018-19 school year.
