West Gosforth railway station


West Gosforth railway station served the electoral ward of West Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England from 1905 to 1967 on the Ponteland Railway.

History

The station opened on 1 June 1905 by the North Eastern Railway. It was situated on the west side of the B1318. There was a small goods shed at the back of the down platform. The station closed to passengers on 17 June 1929 but remainder open for the goods traffic, although it was downgraded to a public delivery siding on 23 August 1954, until finally closing on 14 August 1967.
