Wiązownica massacre


Wiązownica massacre - attack on the village Wiązownica, located in Jarosław County Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland related to Massacres of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia. On April 17, 1945 in the village Ukrainian Insurgent Army murdered about 100 Poles.
At last came to a battle with the local branch of the Polish, helped the group of B. Gliniak "Radwan" arrived later. On the Polish side were killed 91 people, including 20 women and 20 children, UPA burned 150 households.
In connection with the events in Wiązownica, the same day NOW command decided of retaliatory attack on village Piskorowice, given a large concentration of the Ukrainian population sympathizing with OUN.
