William Mundy (MP)


William Mundy was the son of Francis Mundy, a member of parliament for South Derbyshire. He was a justice of the peace, MP and, in 1844, High Sheriff of Derbyshire.

Biography

Mundy was the son of Francis Mundy a member of parliament for Derbyshire. His sister, Constance, was married to William Henry Fox Talbot, the photographer.
His sister, Laura, died on 1 September 1842 in London. In 1856 he was the President of Derby Town and County Museum and Natural History Society. The society's collection's grew and in 1856 they were first offered to the town by Mundy, but the offer was rejected.
