Wilmer, Louisiana


Wilmer is an unincorporated hamlet in the rural north of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States. Wilmer is centered on the intersection of LA 10 and LA 1061. Although the surrounding area is hilly, Wilmer is a mere 64 feet above sea level.
Wilmer is the home of Louisiana businessperson, farmer and political activist Gayle Liuzza, Tangipahoa Council District 1 member of the Tangipahoa Republican Parish Executive Committee.
Wilmer was victimized by the 1908 Dixie tornados which killed four of the settlement's residents.
