Winchell (film)


Winchell is a 1998 American HBO made-for-television biographical film directed by Paul Mazursky which dramatizes the life of columnist Walter Winchell. It is based on the book Walter Winchell: His Life and Times by Herman Klurfeld.

Premise

The film follows Walter Winchell from his early days as a tabloid gossip columnist to his rise as he takes on the United States' most powerful propagandist.

Cast

Stanley Tucci won a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance as Winchell. He was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award.
