Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50


Woodland School District 50 is in Lake County, Illinois. The school has approximately 800 students per grade and is the seventh largest school district in Illinois.
The student population is 7,000 students in the grades of Kindergarten through eighth grade. There are four schools: The primary school, the elementary school, the intermediate school, and the middle school. The students are divided into eight groups of 100 into halls, with the animals of tiger, leopard, panther, and cheetah. Both of these have an east and west side. The students in the same halls are near each other for eight years until high school. In each hall, there are four classes with a Special Ed room. Woodland Middle School, a school in District 50, is grades 6–8. The intermediate school has only two grades, 4th and 5th. In the 2018–2019 school year they started teaching 3rd grade dual language. Kindergarten through 5th has dual language classes that teach classes in English and Spanish. The west side teaches dual language while the east side teaches only English classes. They have three halls per grade. 4th grade white hall, green hall, and gold hall. For the 5th graders they have 5th grade white hall, green hall, and gold hall. Starting in 5th grade the kids get a health class. They start it out with puberty for the 5th graders and continue different health lessons throughout their time until 8th grade.
