Xanadoses


Xanadoses is a genus of moths in the family Cecidosidae. It contains a single species, Xanadoses nielseni, which is endemic to New Zealand. X. nielseni is also known by the common name Kamahi bark scribbler.

Taxonomy

X. nielseni was described by Robert J. B. Hoare and John S. Dugdale in 2003. This species is named in honour of Ebbe Nielsen.

Description

X. nielsen is a small, dark coloured moth with dark metallic highlights on its wings.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand.
