Yacub Addy


Yacub Addy was a Ghanaian traditional drummer, composer and choreographer who collaborated with Wynton Marsalis. He is a recipient of a 2010 National Heritage Fellowship awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts, which is the United States' highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.
Addy taught percussion and West African drumming at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York for nearly two decades. He also taught many students in the upstate New York and greater New York City areas.
