Yagibushi

The Yagibushi is a popular folk song and dance performed at matsuri in Gunma and Tochigi, Japan. It consists of dancers with broad hats called kasa going in a counter clockwise circle around a mikoshi. The dance is very energetic and ends with everyone throwing their hats in the air. The "yagi" used in this folk song name, translating to "eight trees," is different from the "yagi" means goat.
The song was first sung by Seizo, who was from Yagi in Tochigi.
