Young's Park (Overland Park, Kansas)

Young's Park is a park in Overland Park, Kansas. It has an area of 14.47 acres, and includes a playground, a pool, and various recreational facilities, as well as a "historic area".
A private lake once sat on the property. The lake was originally supposed to be North Kilarney Lake. Landowner William B. Strang Jr. intended to establish a recreational park on the site, just as he did with his South Kilarney Lake, now South Lake Park. A family by the name of Young bought the property after Strang's death, and the lake area soon was known by their name. The Youngs donated the property that became the park to the city.
