Yuri Lobanov


Yuri Lobanov was a Soviet-born Tajik sprint canoeist who competed from the early 1970s to the early 1980s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won two medals in the C-2 1000 m events with a gold in 1972 and a bronze in 1980. He was affiliated with Tadzhikiston Dushanbe.
Lobanov also won 14 medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with ten gold, two silvers, and two bronzes.
Lobanov died on May 1, 2017, aged 64.
