Zdeňka Veřmiřovská
Zdeňka Veřmiřovská was a Czechoslovak/Czech gymnast who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics and in the 1948 Summer Olympics.
She was born in Kopřivnice and died in Prague.
In 1936, she won the silver medal as a member of the Czechoslovak gymnastics team. Additionally, although individual events were not awarded medals at the time at the Olympics to women in the sport of Artistic Gymnastics, it is nevertheless notable that of all participants in the competition, Veřmiřovská logged the second-highest optional balance beam exercise score of 14.10, tied only with Germany's Erna Bürger, and behind top-scorer Gabriella Mészáros of Hungary, and her combined compulsory and optional exercise total of 23.10 on this apparatus was second outright, behind, again, only Mészáros.
Twelve years later, she won the gold medal as a member of the Czechoslovak gymnastics team.
She also competed at the 1938 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships where she won the Silver in both the All-Around and Floor Exercise.
