Zec Lesueur


The ZEC Lesueur is a "zone d'exploitation contrôlée" in the unorganized territory of Lac Douaire, in Antoine-Labelle Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Laurentides, in Quebec, in Canada.

Geography

The territory of the Zec Lesueur is bounded on:
The three highest peaks of the ZEC are located near the edge of the Zec Mitchinamecus: montagne de la Tour, montagne du Petit Duplessis , la montagne du Chaise et la montagne Perdue.
On the western edge of the ZEC, the Gatineau River has several rapids: Esturgeon, Ceizur, "chutes du Serpent", rapides de la Trinité, Chantants, Pikes et Mocassins.
Journey to access to entrance station:
On the territory of the ZEC, hunting is limited enrollment periods according to the types of hunting gear, sex beasts, for the following species: moose, american black bear, grouse and hare.
Fishing has quota for brook trout, lake trout, pike, walleye and bass.

Toponymy

The name of the ZEC is directly related to lake Lesueur, located in the northern part of zec. The lake is located at 5.3 km east of the Gatineau River, and is linked to a chain of lakes linked together by the Lesueur River including lakes : Carrière, Pot, Dumain, "de la Vache", Orphan, Lesueur, La Saussaye, Ouzel et Menneval. From the latter lake, Lesueur River flows west for 4 km to empty into the Gatineau River.
The name "Zec Lesueur" was formalized August 5, 1982 at the Bank of place names of the Commission de toponymie du Québec.
