Zul Sutan


Zul Sutan was a Singaporean singer and guitarist. A local music icon, Zul as frontman of rock band Tania became a household name in Singapore's music scene in a career spanning more than 40 years. He died of health complications at National University Hospital on 5 December 2018, aged 61.
A tribute concert for him was held at Hard Rock Café on 24 February 2019 and performed by 20 local acts including Jeremy Monteiro, Jive Talkin, Energy, Jimmy Appadurai and members of Zul's former band, Tania, for more than 600 people with proceeds going to the charity Ray of Hope. Communications and Information Minister S. Iswaran also paid homage to his late friend Zul when he sang Don McLean's American Pie at the concert.
