Aaron ben Isaac of Rechnitz

Rabbi Aaron ben Isaac of Rechnitz was a minor 18th-century German-Jewish rabbinic commentator.
Born in Germany, his father Rabbi Isaac ben Eliezer was the grandson of Aaron ben Samuel and he was the uncle of Kalonymos of Heuberg. In his later life, Rabbi Aaron moved to Rechnitz, Austria and established himself as a learned scholar. Rabbi Aaron was the author of a midrashic commentary on the Bible, the first portion of which was published in 1786 at Sulzbach under the title "Bet Aharon". This title may have been an homage to his great grandfather's work of the same name. In was in Sulzbach that Rabbi Aaron died in 1790. His daughter Chana was the maternal grandmother of Abraham Naftali Hertz Scheuer.
