Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007


Albania was represented by Frederik Ndoci with the song "Hear My Plea" in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.

Before Eurovision

Festivali I Këngës 45

Festivali i Këngës 45 consisted of two semi-finals which took place on 21 December and 22 December and the final evening on 23 December 2006. On 20 December, a quarter final took place with 20 newcomers competing for two spots in the actual festival. Albania was represented at Eurovision by Frederik Ndoci with the song "Balada e gurit" . The winning song was chosen by a seven-member jury panel.
The jury consisted of Shpëtim Kushta, Nora Çashku, Peter Schmid, Valton Beqiri, Vojsava Nelo, Flamur Shehu and Sherif Merdani.

At Eurovision

Because Albania failed to qualify in 2006 country had competed in the semi-final performed 11th, following Netherlands and preceding Denmark, the entry was edited to a three-minute version and translated to English under the title "Hear My Plea" and did not manage to qualify for the final, receiving 49 points and finishing on a 17th place out of 28.
