Anime International Company


Anime International Company, Inc., often abbreviated as AIC, is a Japanese animation studio with headquarters in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan.

History

The company was founded on July 15, 1982.
In addition to producing anime for domestic consumption in Japan, AIC has provided animation assistance on other animated series such as Inspector Gadget as additional services for TMS Entertainment.
AIC had eight divisions, named AIC ASTA, AIC Build, AIC Classic, AIC Digital, AIC Frontier, AIC PLUS+, AIC Spirits and AIC Takarazuka.
In March 2011, Aplix Corporation acquired all shares except AIC's treasury stock, and AIC became a subsidiary of the company.
In February 2013, production producers of AIC Spirits quit the company and established an animation studio Production IMS. Also in May of that year, production producers of AIC Classic quit and founded the studio, Troyca.
On January 20, 2014, Aplix Corporation transferred all shares of AIC to Tooru Miura at 8,000 yen.
In November 2015, Yasutaka Omura became the CEO of AIC, and he established AIC RIGHTS that received the transfer of some copyrights of the work of Anime International Company.
On January 12, 2020, Omura announced his resigning from his CEO position at Anime International Company, although he'll remain as CEO of AIC Rights.
