Asajaya District


Asajaya is a small town located in Samarahan Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay, Chinese and Iban people. Asajaya has a small town, known as Pekan Asajaya. It is a focal point for the residents nearby. There is a district office - Pejabat Daerah Asajaya, which translates as "Asajaya District Office".
There used to be a clinic in Asajaya, but it was destroyed in fire.

Education

There are a few primary schools - SJK Chung Hua Asajaya, SK Asajaya Ulu, SJK Chung Hua Semera, SJK Chung Hua Jemukan and so on. There are also three secondary school - SMK Pesantren, SMK Asajaya, SMK Hajah Laila Taib, SMK Sadong Jaya and SMK Semera. Those who passed their UPSR exam in Primary Six can choose their own secondary school, meanwhile for those who failed will have to go to SMK Asajaya, as that is the only secondary school with transition classes.
