Pesen Na Evrovizija 2007 was the national final format developed by BNT in order to select Bulgaria's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The competition consisted of a semi-final and a final on 3 and 24 February 2007 respectively. Both shows took place at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, hosted by Dragomir Simeonov and Iva Doichinova.
Format
The competition consisted of a semi-final on 3 February 2007 and a final on 24 February 2007. Eighteen songs competed in the semi-final and the top nine qualified by the votes of an expert jury. Twelve songs consisting of the nine semi-final qualifiers alongside three pre-qualified finalists competed in the final, where public televoting determined the winner.
Competing entries
Artists and songwriters were able to submit their entries until 12 January 2007. From all songs submitted to BNT, an expert committee selected eighteen songs for the competition. The list of competing artists and songs were released on 14 January 2007. After the list was released, Una Healy and Orlin Goranov withdrew from the competition while Pippo & Sasheto were disqualified. As a result of this, Toni Dimitrova & Goresch Pyasak, Galin Raichev and Dimitar Atanasov participated in the national final instead.
Semi-final
The semi-final took place on 3 February 2007. Eighteen songs competed and the top nine entries as determined by an expert jury advanced to the final.
Final
The final took place on 24 February 2007. Twelve songs consisting of the nine semi-final winners alongside three pre-qualified entries competed and the winner was determined by public televoting. At the conclusion of the voting, "Voda" performed by Elitsa Todorova & Stoyan Yankulov were the winners, receiving 26,000 more votes than the second place, "Fool for You" performed by KariZma.
Promotion
Prior to the contest, Elitsa and Stoyan made a promotional tour in countries such as Greece, Croatia, and Serbia. Also, the duo will perform at the "Stars of Europe" concert in Italy, which will present the entry in a number of European nations.
At Eurovision
As Bulgaria failed to qualify from the semi-final for the second time in a row, Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov had to compete in the semi-final on 10 May. The Bulgarian entry was performed first, preceding Israel. Bulgaria finished 6th in the semi-final, and therefore qualified for the final on 12 May, where they performed 21st following Romania and preceding Turkey. The entry finished in 5th place with 157 points. With changes to the format of the competition coming into effect for 2008, Bulgaria would have to compete in one of two semi-finals for qualification into the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. As Bulgaria was not the winner of the 2007 Contest and was not a member of the Big Four, other results in the previous contest no longer pre-qualified nations to the final of the forthcoming contest.
