Charlie Rose (mayor)


Charles "Charlie" Rose was born in 1913. His parents were of Portuguese descent from Azores. Charlie Rose was a popular figure for many years in the city of Campbell, California.
He owned and operated a grocery market on Central Avenue, served for several years on the Campbell City Council and served from 19621964 as the city's mayor. Later, he transformed his Central Avenue store into a sports shop that focused on baseball. Rose died in 1989. Pat McCann took over operations of the shop, and the store from the house to 161 Curtner Avenue in Campbell. The Charlie Rose web store exists at charlierosebaseball.com.
