East Office
East Office is a non-profit limited liability company established in 2008 to support the interests of Finnish business in Russia and the CIS market by 19 large Finnish corporations. East Office represents and supports its companies interests in Russia and CIS providing research and up-to-date data on Russia and its business environment. East Office has a large and active network and it maintains close contacts to authorities both in Russian and in Finland by arranging regular meetings with key decision-makers.
Currently, East Office represents 28 major Finnish companies and 80% of total investments to Russia by Finnish corporations, altogether 8 EUR billion. East Office is located in Helsinki and Moscow.
East Office is led by professionals with extensive experience on business, economics and governmental relations. Lauri Veijalainen is the current CEO of the East Office and Ilkka Salonen is the chair of the board. Before Veijalainen joined the East Office team, Salonen acted as a CEO. Former Chairmen and CEOs include Esko Aho, the former Prime Minister of Finland and Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations and Responsibility of Nokia and Rene Nyberg, a long-time Finnish Diplomat.
East Office works especially closely with the Finnish foreign ministry and the Confederation of Finnish Industries.
