El Candidato is a Mexican political thriller web television series created by Peter Blake and produced by Televisa for Amazon Prime Video.
The main cast of the series consists of James Purefoy, José María de Tavira, Eréndira Ibarra, Joaquín Cosío and Esmeralda Pimentel.
The series trailer was released on 15 July 2020. The series premiered on 17 July 2020 on Prime Video.

Plot

The story narrates the story of a broken friendship between a veteran CIA operative Wayne Addison and a renown drug cartel boss, Rafael Bautista. Wayne is assisted by newbie Isabel as they try to catch the most powerful drug-lord of Mexico. Throughout the series, various situations expose the limits that people are willing to reach in search of money, hatred, power and love.
