History

BRNI was an offshoot of the original Civic Union alliance, and included the Russian Union of Youth and Free Russia amongst its members. In the 1993 parliamentary elections it received 1.3% of the proportional representation vote, failing to cross the electoral threshold. However, it won a single constituency seat in the State Duma.
It did not contest any further elections.
