Girl Guides Singapore


Girl Guides Singapore is the national Guiding organization of Singapore. It serves 12,340 members. Founded in 1917, the girls-only organization became a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1966. Formerly named The Singapore Girl Guides Association, the association took on its present name on 24 July 2004.

Program and ideals

The association is divided in three sections according to age:
The Girl Guide emblem incorporates the letters P P, for Pandu Puteri Singapura, Girl Guides Singapore in Malay, the National Language of Singapore.

  8. A Guide takes care of her own possessions and those of other people.
  9. A Guide is thrifty and diligent.
  10. A Guide is self-disciplined in what she thinks, says and does.
